January 31, 2020
BlueDriver 7.2 is here, and with it comes some great new capabilities! The new Service feature will help you reset an oil light or TPMS light, or register a battery. In order to reset an oil or TPMS light, one typically has to perform a special sequence of tasks (like pressing pedals or buttons). The Service feature will give you vehicle specific instructions to help guide you though the process. Additionally, a small number of manufacturers require that a battery be registered upon installation. BlueDriver will now allow BMW and Mini drivers to complete the registration process themselves.

As always, this update is available for free via the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. If you have any questions or concerns about version 7.2 (or anything else), don’t hesitate to contact us!

BlueDriver Nation Invades ETI's Tool Tech in Charlotte
April 30, 2019
Our own Jim Fish and Alex Walsh attended this year’s ETI Tool Tech event – the annual gathering of leading diagnostics providers – which was held in Charlotte, North Carolina this year. The event, which was kicked off at the NASCAR Hall of Fame, included attendees from GM, Honda, Toyota, and Nissan, as well as Snap-on, Launch-Tech, Continental, and Bosch. Jim and Alex were left inspired by a roster of speakers that included Jeff DeGraff, from the University of Michigan and Tim Woods, of the Autonomous Vehicle Alliance.

Key topics discussed included:

• the future of vehicle repair;

• the increasing need and care taken in the areas of cybersecurity and consumer privacy;

• and, the increasing sophistication of vehicle architectures.

Did you know that today’s vehicles have over 100 Million lines of code and dozens of individual electronic modules?  The technology to diagnose vehicles continues to outpace the technical change, and cloud based resources enable even the most difficult diagnostic solutions to be handled without fear.  Considering that, the most valued portion of the agenda for Jim and Alex was speaking to event attendees about those technological advancements. By listening to the challenges and concerns of industry leaders, the BlueDriver team is well equipped to work with the industry to ensure we continue to give you everything you need to repair your own vehicles.

BlueDriver's Jim Fish Accepts Special Director's Award at ETI Tool Tech
April 30, 2019
BlueDriver and Jim Fish have been active members of ETI (Equipment and Tool Institute) for many years, but that dedication has ramped up in recent years, culminating with Jim taking the helm as ETI President and Chairman of the Board last year.  ETI helps enable the success of its members by championing collective interests. Currently those interests include increasing vehicle complexity, rapid change in the automotive industry, and heightened concern over the safety and security of vehicle repair.  ETI also provides a unique and collaborative environment for diagnostics solution providers to work directly with vehicle manufacturers.

At this year’s ETI Tool Tech convention, Jim accepted a special Director’s Award in recognition of exemplary service to ETI. That service has included the recruitment and placement of ETI’s new Executive Director, Brian Plott, and a restructure of the mission and vision of ETI.  “As fast as the technology is moving in the automotive space, it was time for some pretty deep change. ETI allows it’s members to stay ahead of that curve and the moves made to the institute this year position ETI members to deliver leading edge capability for their customers for years to come.” said Jim Fish.

Our ETI membership allows us to work directly with vehicle OEM’s, which is critical in delivering the best enhanced diagnostic capability in the industry. Jim and the BlueDriver team will continue to cultivate and nurture relationships within the automotive industry, so that we can continue delivering the best product imaginable.
